Tiger Woods Gets 3 Million To Play In Australia

Tiger Woods doesn’t know there’s a bad economy out there. He just got 3 million (2 million US) dollars to play in the Australian Masters. This was the first time in 11 years that Tiger has played down under, but he gave the crowd what they wanted, and he too had a great time!

It is said, the Australian government paid have the appearance fee, but raked in over 20 million with the impact on their economy Tiger brought with him. Wow! It amazes me just how powerful and well-known Tiger really is.

The crowd at the tournament was near 25,000 for each of the four days, giving Kingston Heath the look and the energy of a major championship. Tiger even got to put on a jacket for winning, but it was gold in color not green like our Master’s.

“I’m very thankful to have a chance to play in front of great people and put together some good rounds,” said Woods, who finished at 14-under 274.

Asked what his legacy would be in Australia, Woods smiled and said, “I got a ‘W.’ ”
