Cure Low Back Pain In Golfers

If you’re one of the millions of people (golfers) with back pain, what are you doing about it? Please don’t tell me you pop a few ibuprofen and you’re good to go. This is not an approach to curing your low back pain, this is only masking the pain til later.

I’m a firm believer in “fixing it”, and this it being your lower back. And I am not referring to surgery. Surgery is your LAST RESORT, and hopefully you never choose it as there is no guarantee by the surgeon that you will be pain-free, and worse yet, you will lose a considerable amount of mobility because typically they fuse several vertebrae together.

There are several simple low back exercises I do everyday that relieve some pressure in my lower back, but I am currently involved in a complete lower back program I’ll talk about it a minute.

One simple exercise I do about every 3 hours is my Lying Knees To Chest Stretch Exercise:

Instructions:

  • Lie on floor /ground
  • Grab knees with both hands
  • Pull knees in towards chest
  • Hold for 15 seconds and repeat

Benefit to Golf Swing:

  • Relieve tension in lower back allowing for a better turn
  • Improve range of motion to attain a better address position
  • Stretch and loosen muscles in lower back improving putting posture
